Persoonlijke ervaring als journalist in land van herkomst
De journalistiek in Oeganda heeft een revolutie ondergaan. Voor de jaren negentig werd het beroep niet onderwezen op een school of universiteit. Daar kwam eind jaren negentig verandering in: Het is tegenwoordig de meest gevraagde opleiding aan de universiteit.
De opleidingseisen zijn behoorlijk hoog. Zo moet je hoge cijfers op de middelbare school hebben gehad om toegelaten te worden.

Hoe wil je bijdragen aan de Nederlandse journalistiek?
Eerlijk gezegd vind ik dat de huidige berichtgeving over Afrika ongebalanceerd en eenzijdig is. Dat zou ik graag anders zien.

Andere vaardigheden
Momenteel ben ik de voorzitter van 'Pearl of Africa', een Oegandese Stichting in Nederland. Daarnaast ben ik redacteur van het blad 'The Pearl', een tijdschrift van betreffende stichting (http://www.pearlofafrica.nl/).
